The entire world uses 86 million barrels of oil every year. America by itself uses 22 million of those barrels. Gas emissions from cars, factories, etc, all contribute to the rising in temperature of the earth. Scientists predict by the year 2100, the temperature of the earth will rise by five degrees celcius. The last time the earth was at this temperature, it was before the ice age. To me it just seems that humans are destined to screw themselves over.
Whew ok this is a big one, first off, go to most any country in the civilized world and you will notice two big things,
1. Most of the population uses public transportation
and 2. They are, (with the exeption of India and China) smaller in population, and also (with the exeption of Russia and Canada, maybe China...thier borders can be disputed) geographically bigger, alot bigger. Take the biggest modern nation in europe, France, with 551,500 Square Kilometers of land to the US's 9,629,091 sq/km of land and you get some perspective....
The US is unique because we have the comuter, the person that drives like 30 minutes to work. Most nations dont have that, because of the way the US economy has gone and because of our geographic size.
So is it so surprising that 22 milion barrels, to the 86 of the world? (and thats taking that that figure is true...I didnt research it I'll take your word.)
Yes it still might be to much, but when you take into account all the info, its not shocking....Should the government put more money into developing non oil solutions, without a doubt! But not nessaceraly because of greenhouse gass emmisions(I'll get to why in a second) but so we dont need to be dependant on forign Oil.
So why wouldnt we want to worry about global warming? because there is not much we can do about it....
WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!! What about all thoes smart scientist that show all these graphs showing the earth getting warmer?!? They say that man made gasses are warming the earth!!!!
Hmmmm, well what if I said they are rigging the graphs. Why? You might ask. Well I dunno maybe for more funding...stuff like that. But enough of me takling about it...consider this:
So here are the greenhouse gasses and how much they contribute to the total greenhouse gasses....
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) 72.369%
Methane (CH4) 7.100%
Nitrous oxide (N2O) 19.000%
CFC's (and other misc. gases) 1.432%
Total 100.000%
Yeah so if thats the case then manmade emmisions contribute to 5.53% of that, yeah ok...small number, but still we can improve our part! Right? Well ever heard of water vapor? yeah of course you have...but as a greenhouse gass?
What?!
No, I personally have never heard that....
But I guess its true....Water Vapor in the atmospere comprises around 95% of the greenhouse gasses....
If you jott that number into the equation you come up with these numbers.....
Water Vapor 95.000%
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) 3.618%
Methane (CH4) 0.360%
Nitrous oxide (N2O) 0.950%
CFC's (and other misc. gases) 0.072%
Total 100.000%
That would bring manmade contributions to greenhouse gas down to 0.28%, an ignorably small number...
So this pretty much says that even if we wanted to do somthing about global warming it wouldnt matter.....
Now about water vapor....I did a lil research because i was confused about if water vapor would make a difference....and you know what i found? It does...but not as you would expect...the vapor actually cools down the earth. Whats water vapor? Clouds! and clouds reflect sunlight away from the earth... so here is my take...and this will reflect some of my views, which I do not say you must have although I believe them myself....
I believe in a intellegent creation, a being of infinite knowledge created us and every liveing organism on the planet...I also believe with that he created cycles....
We breath in oxegen, and out CO2...Plants use CO2 to make glucose and the byproduct is oxygen....
The warmer the atmosphere gets the more water evaporates, and the more water in the atmophere, the more clouds, and the more clouds the more sunlight gets reflected away.
God created this world perfect, he thought of everything, and even though he left it for us to take care of, he made provisions for many things.
Also every major Global Warming Model in the world does not factor in clouds...
That seems like a stupid mistake to make....unless its not a mistake...
And no I dont expect you to take my word for it....here are my sources.....
