Alright, so. In case you weren't already informed or couldn't really tell, we're here for peace. Or any world related issues that anyone feels the need to talk about. I just thought that I could be the first to, even though I probably know most of you, introduce myself. (Since Em's decided to be slow about that whole business) I'm Naomi. I believe in Peace.

I'd say everybody(for the most part) believes in peace, but few people ever do anything to act on it.

Well, I will agree with you partly. I know it sounds contridictory, but I believe anyone in the military, or police, which make up hundreds of thousands of people, put thier life on the line everyday for peace....

Our armed forces and police forces do what they must, it would be a perfect world if everyone wanted to comprimise, but the fact is they dont, we should always strive for peace through understanding, but we have to do with what we have somtimes.

Peace is a great idea, most everone can agree on that. But Idealist (which are good people) are the ones who say "we need peace" "Peace is good"...yet do nothing, and or, tell us nothing that can help us move towards peace. As for the armed forces, and other security forces we have they are peace makers, just as much as you or I. For without a security force, peace will fall to the wayside ever time something rocks the peace boat so to speak.
Personaly I feel peace is abit futher in the future than alot of people are willing to look towards. One of the major obstacles is the classification of soceity (High, Middle, and Lower Class), the classification of ethnicity/Nationalism (American, English, German.) and the classification of religion (Pagan, Christian, Jewish, Mulism, Buddahist.) With so many ways to identify ones self based on difference, we have to find away to teach people to accept, not torelate as that is a neagtive mind set, but accept that even though you are different than me, we are still brothers and sisters upon this earth. I also feel the only way to do that is through primary education system...but with such as strong calling to nationlism (one of classifications that I think restricts the peace movement the most.) I see very little chance of that happening any time soon.

Correction: I believe in peace and am willing to work for it.
Anyway, I agree with you that peace is much farther in the future than most seem to realize. And that acceptance is key. But with so many types of people in the world who have all of these different mind-sets and world set classifications, it's not going to be easy in the slightest, of course. Education system? Like, teaching people when they're still in their learning ages that we should accept all types of people?

We should start a school when we grow up Omi. Well, no, but if we were to live about a million years longer so we could have time to do everything we should make a school like that, that taught everything like this...hmmm...

Peace is only used when you oppose something. When something bad happens and nothing can done to fix it and noone is willing to comprimise with eachother, people resort to peace as a last thing. Peace is not and will never be a majority vote to end anything, violence is.

I don't think so. People never use peace as the first thing because, as Patrick said, they don't know how. People aren't taught to understand people or try to be open and willing to risk peacefulness, they're taught to defend themselves and hurt people who hurt them. If people knew how and could get over their laziness we could have peace. That's why people (like us, that's why we have this site) have to do our best to act on it in our lives.

Mankind as a whole is corrupt, there are relativly very few individuals that can impact people for the better, and to often then their lives are still filled with scandle...
